The Elmer T

The Elmer T is my attempt at a mini-simmons--a fairly wide, parallel board, step-deck, almost no rocker, flat bottom. It started out with a solid rectangular piece of EPS foam (6' x 24" x 3"). The fins took the most time and were made from scrap plywood and scrap cloth. Opposed to what I am used to, I decided to make a leash loop, using scraps of cloth from the Alger Board Room.

Dimensions: 5'8" x 22" x a smidgen under 2.5"

Hi Dale, couldn't find ElmerT reply but glad to know about the bourbon and will try and bring some in September when Diane and I make our big adventure to GR. Loved seeing you and Nathan and Zelda yesterday. Good luck to Jenny in getting tenure! Love, Mom

Surfed the Elmer T this morning in less than stellar conditions. The good news, however, is that this thing works! It will be really fun to get it into decent waves. My thought was that if it works in this knee-high stuff it will work in anything. I was able to grab a few left lines that made me dream of what might come.

Dale- watching you on that thing this morning left an impression on me for sure. Keep up the experimenting! It was good meeting you and glad I found you out here in cyberspace too. regards,
Mark (the guy with the bloody gash on his forehead, going between the longboard and shortboard in South Haven Labor Day).
